We are pleased to invite you to the Annual PhD Conference in Biomedical Sciences 2021 which will take place from 03th - 05th November 2021 at the MU Campus, Brno. The PhD conference shall promote communication and exchange of experiences between the participants from various departments and research fields.
The Annual PhD Conference in Biomedical Sciences 2021 aims to bring together PhD students from different fields offering a chance to present their research in front of a miscellaneous audience promoting open discussions among participants.
For the first time, the PhD conference will be held among students of all three specializations following the idea "More people, more science & more fun!". Therefore, all students in the program take active part creating a team spirit, facilitating exchange of ideas and promoting communication between different departments.
The conference starts on the 03th November and the registration desk will be open from 08:00-08:30 (meeting room B06/201).
The program includes doctoral state exams (3rd year students), progress reports (2nd, 4th and higher year students) as well as two poster sessions (all students). Please, see the conference program for more details. Student's talks will take place in the seminar room C03/117, while the two poster sessions will be held at the university corridor in front of the pavilion B06.

In the standard GAČR project, which was completed in 2022, the research team of Dr. Nicola Silva from the Biology department of the Faculty of Medicine MU studied the complexity of DNA repair dynamics in the germline. At the final evaluation by the chairmanship of the GA CR, the research results were rated as excellent. Congratulations!

Lenka Bešše shares her experiences from research and life in Switzerland, and talks about the challenges of balancing a scientific career and family life. Her research team, which focuses on the study of protein homeostasis and immunotherapy at the MU Faculty of Medicine, is also a new member of the largest project in the field of cancer in the Czech Republic - the National Institute for Cancer Research.
