Natália Vadovičová - a PhD student from the research group of Dr. Stjepan Uldrijan - won the award for the second best lecture at the International medical doctoral conference 2023 for the results of her dissertation focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms of resistance in melanoma cells.
On the 29th-30th of November 2023, the 20th International Medical Doctoral Conference was held in the Teaching Center of the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové. A total of fifty students from 22 Czech and foreign medical faculties participated in the conference.
At the conference, Natalia presented the results of her dissertation, which describes a new non-canonical regulation of AMPK in melanoma cells. In general, the goal of this work is to clarify the molecular mechanisms that could help us overcome emerging resistance in melanoma.
The Head of the Department of Biology, Prof. Ondřej Slabý, has been elected Academician of the Year for preclinical teaching in a student poll organized by the Medical Students Association. The award ceremony occurred during the 26th Faculty of Medicine and Medical Students Association Representative Ball. Congratulations 😊.
