This year, the Biology Department is also organizing the Annual PhD Conference in Biomedical Sciences, which will take place on the 8th-10th of November at the University Campus in Brno. More than 50 PhD students from various departments of the Faculty of Medicine, CEITEC MU and FNUSA-ICRC will present the results of their dissertations in the field of Biomedicine.
The Annual PhD Conference in Biomedical Sciences aims to bring together PhD students from different fields offering a chance to present their research in front of a miscellaneous audience promoting open discussions among participants.
The conference will be held among students of all three specializations following the idea "More people, more science & more fun!". Therefore, all students in the program take active part creating a team spirit, facilitating exchange of ideas and promoting communication between different departments.
The conference starts on the 8th November and the registration desk will be open from 07:45 - 08:15 (meeting room B06/201).
This year, the conference will last three days. Overall, 14 students will give talks as part of their doctoral state exams, 6 students will present their progress report s and 40 students will present posters during two poster sessions, which create great environment for networking. The Head of the Department of Biology, Prof. Ondřej Slabý, has been elected Academician of the Year for preclinical teaching in a student poll organized by the Medical Students Association. The award ceremony occurred during the 26th Faculty of Medicine and Medical Students Association Representative Ball. Congratulations 😊.
