From PhD to Lead Molecular Interactions Team at CSL Behring, Bern (CHE)

With Daniel Couto, PhD 

Daniel leads the Molecular Interactions Team at CSL Behring’s Research Department in Switzerland, where he drives early-phase drug discovery for rare diseases and supports preclinical research programs. Daniel seeks to advance therapeutic drug discovery by integrating his knowledge in molecular biology, structural protein biochemistry, and biosensor analytics. He earned his PhD from The Sainsbury Laboratory at the University of East Anglia (UK), where he focused on plant innate immunity, and received further structural biology training during a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Geneva. Daniel is passionate about scientific discovery as well as mentoring the next generation of researchers.
