Jitka Fučíková, PhD - Principal Investigator at SOTIO Biotech
Our first invited speaker for the BIOTOP seminars, Dr. Jitka Fučíková, presented us with her personal background and career path into her current position. She also shared insigthful advice to PhD students and has welcomed any interested student to come visit her at her lab, at SOTIO.
Jitka holds a diploma in pharmacy from the Charles University, and received her Ph.D. degree in immunology at 2nd Medical School, Charles University. She carried her postdoctoral research at Charles University with long term internships at Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Melbourne and Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers, Paris. In her scientific efforts, she focuses on tumor immunology and tumor immunotherapy.
Jitka is currently principal investigator in Sotio Biotech research team and associate professor at Charles University´s 2nd faculty od Medicine.
Jitka has published more than 65 scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals and is principle investigator of 2 international patents. She is laurate of several scientific awards, including Discovery Award (2017); Purkyne endowment fund (2017); L´Oreal UNESCO for Women in science award (2018); Česká hlava (2018).
