The collective of authors from the Biology Department published the second volume of the textbook Medical Biology II

The second volume of the biology textbook covers topics from the role of genetics in modern medicine or Mendel's laws and monogenically inherited diseases, to selected areas of molecular medicine or evolutionary biology.

A new research group was established at the Biology Department

Thanks to the support of the National Institute for Cancer Research, a new research group was opened at the Biology Department of the Faculty of Medicine. The group will be led by Dr. Lenka Bešše. With her team, she will conduct research in the field of cancer immunotherapy.

Nicola Silva's research seeks to answer one of the fundamental, unanswered biological questions

Department of Biology joins International Cancer Institute

The National Cancer Institute is a project for which almost 1.5 billion crowns have been allocated for the period of 3.5 years from the resources of the National Recovery Plan (NPO) - specifically from the EXCELES program of the Ministry of Education. Prof. Slabý, the head of the Dept. of Biology, is the coordinator of this project at Masaryk University.
